The 100th Anniversary of Silesian Uprisings Square is a memorial site paying tribute to the people of Upper Silesia who between 1919 and 1921 fought against the repressions of German authorities and then to incorporate their homeland into the newly reinstated Poland. Located directly in front of the entrance to the Silesian Zoo, the square features a memorial plaque honouring the insurrectionists, surrounded by flowers, with the national flag in the middle of the square.
The square was officially opened on August 15th, 2020, marking the 100th anniversary of the Second Silesian Uprising. Since then, the 100th Anniversary of Silesian Uprisings Square has been become the local site for celebrating national and patriotic occasions.
