The Silesia Park is a unique green oasis in Chorzów, located in the heart of the Upper Silesia agglomeration, which is the most industrialized region of Poland, inhabited by several million people. For 70 years the Park has welcomed local citizens, tourists, sports and cultural events attendants, as well as healthy lifestyle and fitness enthusiasts who are taking to the Park in droves to walk, jog, ride bicycles or roller skate.
Located at the border of Siemianowice Śląskie, Chorzów and Katowice, the Silesia Park sprawls across 535 hectares, of which 250 hectares are forests and 100 hectares are groomed park areas. Ponds, pools, streams, various trees and shrubs, and vast meadows in the Park provide refuge to wildlife which lives next door to the inhabitants of the Silesian Zoo.
The Silesia Park offers a wide variety of points of interests and attractions, such as the Silesian Planetarium or the legendary Silesian Stadium which recently underwent a comprehensive reconstruction. The Silesian Theme Park provides a unique combination of entertainment and science. Other interesting places in the Silesia Park include the Upper Silesia Ethnographic Park and “The Hat” Exhibition Centre. There are also numerous restaurants and cafes.
Silesia Park is easily accessible thanks to the convenient connections to the nearby A4 Motorway, Drogowa Trasa Średnicowa and the Chorzów and Katowice city centres. A number of hotels are available in the immediate vicinity of the Park.
